Course overview - Athletics, Striking and Fielding
During the first half term - All learners will participate in a variety of athletics events. The focus of the sessions is to develop the athletic disciplines of throwing, running and jumping. Learning how to safely perform each event as well as how to improve speed and power to increase success in each discipline. Understanding and implementing rules for each event.
During the second half term - initially learners will participate in both rounders and cricket based skills and games. They will then have the choice to continue one of them. The focus for the sessions will be to develop the skills of throwing, catching and batting. Learners will then look to apply strategies to make them more successful during game play.

One skills and gameplay or fitness assessment per half term with a milestone assessment during each half term to highlight areas for improvement:
