Course overview French & German - Study Period 1 and 2
During the first half term - The study period will focus on promoting the importance of linguistic skills in French & German. Therefore, this will allow learners to acquire the skills to begin their learning journey in French. During the first study period learners explore a variety of verbs and understand that conjugation is key to a successful knowledge and use of expressing views about themselves and others. They learn present tense verb endings as well as extend their use of avoir and être. In addition they are able to talk about family members, pets and other animals in the context of describing them and their family. They find out that the adjective endings depend on masculine or feminine. They also learn about le/la/les and the impact the distinction has on how the grammar is applied.
