Course overview - Term 3, Half term 1 and 2
Summer Term 1- How does water shape the landscape?
In the first half term, learners will be studying about water and how it shapes the landscape. They will be learning about the erosion of land in rivers, coasts and glaciers and how these form different landforms. They will also be looking at the risks of flooding and will be creating a case study on the Holderness Coastline, investigating what is happening to it and what is being done to control erosion.
Summer Term 2- Migration
During the second half term, learners will learn about how populations are changing and moving. Students will learn what migration is and why people may choose to leave an area. They will be focusing on one of two particular case studies: the migration of Mexicans into the USA or migration into Europe. The topic will finish with a debate on whether people should be sympathetic to those who are fleeing countries.
