Course overview French - Study Period 5 and 6
During the fifth study period - How can you survive the French Speaking World?
This topic covers la Francophonie and how the youngsters can develop their knowledge of where they can visit in the French Speaking World. They will learn to use il y a and the modal verb on peut to show what there is and what they can do in each country. They will also compare locations so that they develop use of the comparative and superlative.
During the sixth study period - How can I spend my summer holiday?
The study period will give learners the ability to manipulate language more and to be able to refer to the future tense. This is in relation to the holidays they are going to enjoy!!! They also meet the conditional tense in certain phrases such as j’aimerais or je voudrais...Although the focus is on 'je other pronouns should be used in order to reinforce what learners may have learnt at primary school.
The tasks and designs should be open ended enough so that learners have the opportunity to be creative. They will refer to prior learning and extend the knowledge of the language through analysing and recognizing patterns and the use of dictionary/ iPads to identify new vocabulary.

Guidance:
Learners will receive guidance in a variety of ways. These include marked assessments, including feedback in books, 1:1 interaction, vocabulary tests, self & peer assessments of including class tasks .
