As of 4/1/2023: The content for Human Resources has been updated.
The Department of Education is in the “people” business. Our most important resource to carry out our mission is our people. Most of our budget is used to pay employees. We have many types of employees who provide services to students, and they are supported by other employees. DOE employees are represented by more than a dozen collective bargaining units. Ensuring that all data is correct and current in the DOE’s personnel systems is important to pay the employees correctly and to provide benefits to regular employees. Conducting an annual performance evaluation with each employee is important to make sure the services provided to students, parents, other employees, and interested groups such as the Legislature meet our standards and are continually improving.
Through this course, participants will become familiar with personnel and human resources topics. To take this course, it is highly recommended that you complete all activities in Role of the SASA, Purchasing and Contracts, and Fiscal.
Technical Assistance Resources
Due to recent system upgrades, the assessment at the end of each module is temporarily unavailable until further notice. Assessments that may have been in the process of being completed are also not available for which we apologize for the inconvenience. However, access to all course content and videos remains available for use. Procurement is the only course at this time with a working assessment to show completion.
