In this module, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the various types employee appraisal systems. The performance appraisal system is the system used to evaluate the performance of salaried classified/SSP employees, and to improve employee performance. Three phases comprise the system: performance planning, communication of performance expectations, requirements and goals or projects; performance monitoring and coaching, and completion of the appraisal. There are other evaluation systems for other types of employees, which are listed in this presentation. Some of the participants in this course are not responsible for conducting performance appraisals.
