Through this course, participants will become familiar with the Hawaii State Department of Education's procurement process to ensure that faculty and staff follow the proper policies and procedures. The purpose of this is course is to decrease the number of audit finds and procurement/contracting violations due to unclear expectation of roles and responsibilities and lack of understanding of procurement requirements. It is also to help increase the public confidence in the integrity of the procurement process.
Through this course, participants will:
Develop a working knowledge of procurement terminology
Develop an understanding of the overall procurement and contracting process
Know what you can and cannot do as it relates to the procurement and contracting process
Develop a working knowledge of small purchase procurement
Develop a working knowledge of the other procurement methods available
