Through this course, participants will become familiar with collecting, depositing, and accounting for cash receipts, which is an important function of the school office. Some complex area offices and state offices also receive cash or checks. Handling cash is a high-risk area for potential loss to the DOE, so school and office employees need to understand policies and procedures for effective internal control.
Receipt means a written acknowledgment of having received a specified amount of money or goods. This course is about receipting money, not goods.
