In this module, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the SASA's role in the recruitment process. The SASA needs to understand the recruitment processes for various types of employees to be able to: 1) support the Principal and 2) to respond to inquiries from school staff and the public regarding the hiring process.
Know the differences between recruitment processes for certificated teachers, substitute teachers, educational officers, and various kinds of casual positions.
Understand the difference between internal and external applicants.
Know how to direct a potential applicant to the DOE’s recruitment website.
Identify the application forms used for various kinds of casual positions.
List tasks a SASA can perform to support the principal in the recruitment process for various types of positions.
Identify the recruitment reports available in eHR.
The form number for "External Application for School Level Leadership Positions" has been changed to DOE OTM 600-019. If you print the handout, please make a note of the new form number on part 4 of this module, slide 7 (Page 05). The old form number was 103X.
