In this module, participants will gain a deeper understanding of using the casual personnel system. The Casual Personnel System is a database which maintains records for all DOE casual employees and their related job information. Information is transferred from this system to the Casual Payroll System to provide information needed when casual employees are paid. Accuracy of data input into the Casual Personnel System is essential because it is checked by the DAGS Payroll System. A casual employee’s pay will be rejected if the data does not match.
Understand the purpose of the Casual Personnel System.
Know which types of employees are, and are not, recorded in the Casual Personnel System.
Understand the definition of Occupational Group Code, and where to find a current list of codes.
Know how to input jobs for athletic coaches and intramural supervisors.
Understand why sign in/sign out attendance sheets are needed, and access some sample sheets.
Provide examples of segregation of duties related to casual personnel, =casual payroll, and distributing paychecks.
Know how to find the User Walkthrough Manual for the system and other information necessary to use the system.
Know how to find the required software for Casual Personnel System.
Know what information is required for input for Casual Employees.
Describe a “best practice” to confirm Casual Payroll data entry and create a pending file for checking on OHR verification.
Know how to use the Casual Personnel System to look up a casual employee’s Employee ID number.
