On November 24, the Community Pathways students gathered at Elsie Macgill High School for an all-day tournament at the first ever Community Pathways Program, or CPP, ‘Olympics’. Led by Mr. Lykouras, the students split up into two teams: team A and team B.
Four TAB mainstream students: McKayla Miller, Ngoc Dinh, Alba Munoz Se, and Kiana Gordon, led the students through basketball, ball hockey, and other games.
Sam Appleton, one of the voices of the daily announcements, commented, “The CPP program traveled to Elsie Macgill yesterday for the first Futures Tournament since 2020. Blakelock CPP took two teams to play a tournament of ball hockey. After a slow start, the CPP program rallied for their last three games, out-scoring opponents 11-3. Shout out to Faisal, Frankie and Catarina for playing outstanding in net. Jackson, Kareem, JC, Jane, Jaonel and Maxwell all scored multiple goals throughout the day. We’re proud of you all and we cannot wait until the next futures tournament!”
The CPP students had a phenomenal time at Elsie Macgill High School. They all displayed passion, good sportsmanship, and a smile on their faces as they showed TAB spirit and strength. This experience was an incredible way to integrate the different CPP students of various schools. We look forward to the next excursion for the CPP students.
Go Tigers!
