Term 1:
In term one, we learned about some of the parts of the car with Mr. Walsh.
We watched videos with explanations on how each part works, and Mr. Walsh then explained it further and showed us the parts in the bonnet and on the wheels of his own car.
We learned about :
The braking system
The alternator
The 4 stroke engine
After learning about the different parts, we had to type up one page explaining
Its role in the car
How it works
Sketches/Diagrams
Here is the document I typed up to explain how the 4 stroke engine works:
Term 2:
In term 2, we continued learning about the different parts of the car, including:
Clutch
Cooling system
I found this interesting because I had never really thought about how these things work in the car before.
I'm able to recognise them in the car now which is great.
Term 3;
During lockdown we had to write a detailed explanation/make a video about how to change the wheel of a car.
This is useful information I might need to use one day when I'm older (hopefully not though!)
Driver's Education has thought me a lot of useful stuff this year, and now at least I know a bit about how a car works which is good!
Here is my sheet explaining how to change the wheel of a car:
