Term 1:
In term one, we focused on supporting one area of the community. We decided to bring the fairy garden on the grounds of Rathfredagh Chesire Home back to life with new fairy houses, fixed benches, a clear path and much more.
We researched ideas online, and sent them to our teacher Mr. Walsh.
I decided to make a ladybird crossing.
To do this I needed:
smooth stones
paints
paintbrushes
wood to make a sign
I got smooth stones at Torc Waterfall, and rinsed them to clean off dirt.
Mr. Walsh then provided me with paint and paintbrushes to paint the rocks at school.
We will be going to the fairy garden to refurbish and add our creations next term hopefully.
Here is a picture of some rocks that I used:
Term 2:
In term 2, I finished painting the rocks (which took quite a while!)
When we were all finished making everything we went to the fairy trail at Rathfredagh Chesire Home and refurbished it.
Each class went on separate days. Our class was there the first day so it was nice for us to be able to see the heavy lifting being done as well as the transformation. We all had a great day out.
Here you can see my rocks on a bank beside the stream:
Term 3:
In term 3, we helped make log seats at the back of our school to provide seating for students at lunchtime, considering we have to eat outside now because of the coronavirus restrictions. This is a great improvement to our school we were apart of.
