Tuition Reimbursement Award:
Qualified High School Accelerated students may be eligible for the Tuition Reimbursement Award, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
In addition, we are pleased to announce two exciting updates regarding the Tuition Reimbursement Award:
Starting Fall 2024, there is no longer a limit on the number of HSXL courses students can take while remaining eligible for the Tuition Reimbursement Award. For instance, Grade 11 students who have taken HSXL courses during Fall 2023 & Winter 2024 semesters, and received tuition reimbursement can now enroll in HSXL courses for Fall 2024 & Winter 2025 and remain eligible for the Tuition Reimbursement Award (subject to meeting other eligibility criteria).
Starting in Fall 2024, international students attending a high school in Canada may enroll in HSXL courses and receive a reimbursement equivalent to domestic tuition rates after the semester's 50% withdrawal deadline. Upon admission to the University of Regina for an undergraduate program following high school graduation, students become eligible for the reimbursement of the domestic portion of the tuition. You can find the full eligibility criteria here.
Course Registration Day:
Kindly note, admission to the program does not automatically secure a place in the classes. Upon acceptance into the program, students will receive an email invitation to participate in a Course Registration Day. During this event, our team will provide guidance on how to register in the High School Accelerated classes.
Due to limited seating availability, we urge students to prioritize attendance at the Course Registration Day to secure their place promptly.
For a more detailed course schedule and more information, please refer to our newsletter, or visit our website.

Professional programs require one to four years of undergraduate study before you can apply. The length and area of study varies by program and institution.
The pre-professional pathways available at the University of Regina are listed below. During their pre-professional studies at the U of R, students also access supports, resources, and skill-building opportunities to help them become a strong candidate for future admission to their desired professional program.

The path to each professional program is unique, so we encourage students to meet with an Enrolment Counsellor before applying, in order to discuss the right pathway for them.
Journalism Is Back!!
The University of Regina has launched a new undergraduate degree program — Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, News Media, and Communication — after a one-year pause to renew and revitalize its Journalism program. During that time, faculty reflected, reviewed, researched, consulted, and crafted a new program to reflect the changing times and challenges they hold.
The new program integrates professional training in journalism, digital media, and strategic communications with complementary courses from other areas, including Indigenous Journalism and Communication Arts, Political Science, English, Sociology, Film, and Creative Technologies. Students gain a wide range of professional job-ready skills in research, writing, and critical thinking, in addition to technical know-how coupled with a strong grounding in the liberal arts.
Find out more today. Visit the School of Journalism and check out the new Journalism, News Media, and Communication program.
