In the spirit of reconciliation and in honour of Residential School survivors, the U of A will once again offer a free application to all Indigenous learners who apply from September 30 to October 9. Details can be found on our Indigenous Students web page.
The Indigenous Recruitment Office is available to answer questions for Indigenous students and counsellors. Their team of coordinators can advise on application preparation, program selection, student financing, sponsorship and identity documentation. They also host on-campus events and Indigenous campus tours. Questions can be directed to Trevor Phillips, Assistant Registrar, Indigenous Enrolment Management at trevor.phillips@ualberta.ca.
Our biggest event of the year is back! Join us on October 19 at the Butterdome on North Campus from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. for students to explore the U of A. Registration opens September 9 on our Open House web page.
There are so many ways for students to engage with the U of A at our virtual and in-person events on topics like submitting an application, work integrated learning and U of A 101. We recommend they regularly check our Events web page for an updated list of events throughout the year.
Fem+ is a hybrid seven-month program for women, non-binary and 2SLGBTQ+ high school students interested in exploring the possibilities of engineering. Students will be mentored one-on-one by a current U of A student in the engineering program, see what university is like and meet other high school students interested in engineering. Applications are open until October 6 or email femprog@ualberta.ca for more details.
The best way for students to picture themselves at the U of A is to visit campus. Students can take a Campus and/or Residence tour at any of our three campuses and get an inside look at our vibrant spaces and U of A community. Tours can be booked at uab.ca/tours.
Know parents and supporters who are looking to get their own helpful U of A tips and reminders? Encourage them to subscribe to our Parents & Supporters E-News at uab.ca/parents.
We also have curated packages with helpful resources including our Undergraduate Viewbook, Parents & Supporters Handbook and more. They can request one at parents@ualberta.ca.
We know student's schedules are busy, and that can make it challenging to attend events. That is why we are proud to offer on-demand videos to help them learn about our admissions process, academics and student life at their convenience. Students can browse the full library at uab.ca/ondemand.
