The College of Dentistry offers direct-entry programs for high school grads — the 10-month Dental Assisting Certificate and the two-year Bachelor of Science in Dental Therapy.

Dental Assisting Certificate

The Dental Assisting program prepares students to be part of a dental team that treats, educates, and supports patients. Students receive classroom learning, as well as 12 weeks of hands-on experience alongside dentistry students in the college’s Dental Education Clinic.

Bachelor of Science in Dental Therapy

In Dental Therapy, students earn a degree with the completion of six terms of study over two years. The program will be held at three locations: USask Prince Albert Campus, Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Regina, and Northlands College in La Ronge.

Seven first-year seats are available at each learning site. Although all applicants are encouraged, selection criteria offers priority to Indigenous students.

Navigate business school by participating a learning community

Edwards Learning Communities (LC) helps first-year students navigate business school and sets them up for success in university life and their academic career by:

Success looks different to everyone: learning communities are a way for students to explore what success means to them, whether that involves doing well in classes, discovering new interests, building friendship circles, or getting involved locally in the university community and beyond.

Being in an LC gives students the special opportunity to meet upper year students, alumni, and advisors through a variety of informative, fun, interactive, and helpful LC hours in a collaborative setting led by student Peer Mentors.

Edwards School of Business COMM 101 dual credit course

Students in Grade 12 can get a head start on their degree by taking COMM 101, an online business course offered by Edwards School of Business. This is an especially great option for students in high schools that are not able to offer any business education courses.

With COMM 101, students can:

Read and share Brayden’s story about his experience taking COMM 101.

Encourage students to apply on Edwards' COMM 101 Online page by December 1, 2023 to start in January 2024.
