Year 10 General Mathematics prepares students to study VCE General Mathematics in years 11 and 12. It is accessible to a wide range of students, having a strong focus on using descriptive statistics, financial mathematics, measurement, and the algebra of linear equations to model real-world scenarios.
Define and explain key concepts from statistics, algebra, and measurement, applying them to a range of related mathematical routines and procedures.
Apply mathematical processes in non-routine contexts and analyse and discuss these applications.
Select and appropriately use scientific calculators, spreadsheets and other technology to develop ideas, produce results and carry out analysis in situations requiring mathematical problem solving and modelling.
