The Year 10 curriculum for History provides a focus on the Modern World and Australia. Students complete two in-depth studies. The first unit is on World War 2 (1939 – 1945), which provides a detailed look at the causes and effects of the 20th Century’s largest conflict with a focus on ideology and the impact on Australia. The second unit on Rights and Freedoms (1945 – present) goes in-depth into the modern struggle for civil rights and reconciliation by Indigenous Australians.
Analyse significant events, the actions of individuals and groups, and beliefs and values to identify and evaluate the patterns of change and continuity over time.
Sequence events and developments within a chronological framework, and identify relationships between events across different places and periods of time.
Evaluate the different interpretations of the past and recognise the evidence used to support these interpretations.
