Robot Description: Our robot, "Just Scraping By," works by pulling packages from the stairs to the scoring area.
When operating the robot, the tunnel (constructed of acrylic cut with the Lasercamm™) runs perpendicular to the table's rails, connecting the blocks on the middle stairstep with the 2x scoring zone directly across.
A scraper pulls the blocks into the tunnel and pushes them out the other side by translating along a rack and pinion setup.
This tunnel is moved from the starting box to the final operating position using a rail-mounted drivetrain, central to which are two long acrylic rods resting on axles and connected with a mounting bracket. 3D-printed wheels grip the rails to facilitate the locomotion.
