Sun God (10 Year Anniversary)

Contest Description

A model of the Sun God is located in the middle of the playing field at a 45 degree angle as shown below. There are racks of rings on either side of the field. Blue rings on one side, yellow rings on another side, and red tie-breaking rings in the middle. As soon as a ring is removed from the rack, the tie-breaking ring will roll towards the side with the removed ring. Robots compete head-to-head with starting areas on opposite sides of the field.Each MAE3 design team will build a robot that will compete head-to-head on the contest table. The robots will be arbitrarily assigned to start in either the right or left starting areas. The starting size of each machine is limited to a cube defined by a test box in the lab (approximately with a base of 10”x10”) . Note, a rail passes through the starting area, and robots can be attach to this rail, as long as the robot setup time does not exceed 2 minutes. The contest will run for a 1 minute time period.
