"Powered by high-torque Mexican food and The Taco StandTM"
Robot Description:
Our robot Jorge is built with an acrylic drivetrain powered by two GM9 straight geared motors. The ball collection mechanism is an inclined ramp with a rotating horizontal axle, and is powered by two non-geared high-speed motors. Rubber bands wrap around the horizontal axle, creating adequate friction to pull billiard balls upon contact into the ramp storage space. For vertical movement, a six bar linkage powered by two angled geared motors lifts the ramp from collecting position (flush with the ground) to an elevated position in which it is able to launch the balls into the scoring area. The six-bar linkage also allows the ramp to be used to collect balls from the tilt depot and knock balls down from their initial wall positions.
