Curriculum Committee

Curriculum Committee

The Curriculum Committee at Heathmont College is comprised of all Curriculum Area Leaders (CALs) and other Positions of Responsibility that have direct impact on the curriculum program and offerings. Examples of such PORs include the High Ability Practice Leader and Senior School Program Coordinators for both VCE and VCAL.

This group is also attended by many members of the leadership team including all Learning Specialists with a Curriculum Responsibility (such as Literacy and Numeracy).

Curriculum Committee is run and managed by the LT Curriculum with oversight from the AP - Director of Coaching, Curriculum and Development.

Curriculum Committee meetings are held semi - regularly across the term and will occur no less than three times in any term. The actual number may vary depending on competing priorities of the school.

The role of the Curriculum Committee is to oversee the overall structure, organisation and documentation of the HC Curriculum from years 7 - 12.

Decisions regarding the structure and format of curriculum, assessment schedules, documentation templates and processes will be brought to Curriculum Committee. Decisions that impact on more than just curriculum (such as staff professional learning, extra curriculum programs and student management issues) may also be discussed at Curriculum Committee but any recommendations will then be sent through to the Leadership team.

Any staff member can bring an item to the Curriculum Committee provided that they raise the item with the LT - Curriculum at least one week prior to the meeting, They can attend to present their item in person or have the item brought by any member of the team.

Members of the Curriculum Committee can access the Curriculum Committee Team page here.

Curriculum Area Team Sites

Each faculty has its own Microsoft Teams page where curriculum documentation is kept and adjusted along with resources for across years 7 - 12. You will need to seek access permissions from the appropriate Curriculum Area Leader for each team.

In addition to the faculty sites, there are other Teams sites that contain curriculum information:
