Graduation is a special milestone, and we are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of the CPDLF Class of 2026. Each graduate's journey has been unique, but all have demonstrated resilience, determination, and a commitment to learning along the way.

We are especially honored to recognize this year's Valedictorian, Shelby Stevenson, and Salutatorian, Elias Cramer, whose outstanding academic achievements reflect years of hard work, perseverance, and dedication. They exemplify the excellence, growth, and lifelong learning we strive to foster at CPDLF.

We’re also proud to announce CPDLF Award recipients: Eli Plowman, Kaleb Maul, and Dereck Boyer. The CPDLF Award goes to senior learners who demonstrate Connection, Perseverance, Determination, Learning, and are Future-focused. Learners who overcame obstacles and displayed a growth mindset received the CPDLF Grit Award. Those learners included Dominic Kabina and Apple Miles.

Congratulations to all of our graduates. We are grateful to have been part of your educational journey and can't wait to see where your next chapter takes you.

Our CPDLF Board met on June 11 to wrap up the school year and map out an exciting future for our community. While you can always access the full Board agenda here, we’ve broken down the biggest highlights and takeaways for our school families below:

• Welcoming a New Face: This August, Mr. Joe Luther will officially join our Board! Mr. Luther is the Executive Director of the Admiral Peary Area Vocational Technical Center. He brings a wealth of knowledge to our team, which will help us expand and enhance our Career and Technical course offerings for your learners.

• Fond Farewells: This was the final Board meeting for Dr. Nicole Dice, who is stepping down to focus on her exciting new role as the Executive Director of the Franklin County Career Institute. We are incredibly grateful for her steadfast support over the years—both on and off the Board—and wish her the absolute best in her new position!

• Budget Approved & Room to Grow: The Board officially approved the 2026-27 General Budget. This budget is built to support a vibrant community of 325 learners. To hit that target, we are working hard over the summer to welcome about 150 new students to our school family. If CPDLF has made a positive difference for your child, please spread the word to your friends, family, and neighbors!

• Setting the Stage for Next Year: We approved a variety of operational contracts (both standard renewals and a few exciting new ones) to get everything ready for the fall. All of this behind-the-scenes prep means we will have some awesome new experiences to share with your learners next year.

We’re officially caught up with reporting on our School Improvement Plan. As you can see, we did not meet our stretch goals in the fourth quarter, but that’s why they’re stretch goals: they inspire us to push hard and grow! We’re proud of the learners who worked hard to strive for these targets.

At CPDLF, we know learning happens one step at a time. That's why Pennsylvania has updated its attendance requirements for cyber charter schools. In addition to logging in and attending school, learners must now demonstrate weekly engagement by completing schoolwork and making academic progress throughout the week.

While this is a new state requirement (Act 47 of 2025), it aligns with something we've always believed: success comes from consistent effort.

Think of each week as a milestone on the path toward your goals. Completing assignments, participating in learning activities, and staying engaged helps learners build momentum and stay on track for a strong finish to the school year.

Over the coming months, we'll share more information about what weekly engagement looks like and how families can easily monitor progress. For now, we encourage learners to start the new school year strong by showing up, doing their best work, and celebrating each accomplishment along the way.

Every completed week is another step toward success—and honey badgers know a thing or two about perseverance.

You saw us mention Act 47 previously. While some changes - like demonstrating learner progress - are positive, other changes - like funding cuts - directly hurt our school. It’s time to remind our legislators that cyber school is important for PA students.
