Color Guard Has Spirit

School spirit is very important here at CHS. That's why we have our very own color guard. They cheer on our athletics and put on amazing shows with their choreographed moves and colorful flags.

Color guard practices long hours to ensure everything is perfect down to the last detail.

“We have an hour and a half of class every single day and after school, we meet 3 times a week and we usually do 3:30 to  6:00, " Coach Micheal Henson said.

Color guard requires you to excel at specific abilities in order to make sure that they do their very best when it comes down to it.

“You need to able to excel in athletic abilities and you need to be dedicated and be able to put in the work,” Freshman Mariana Rojo said.

Color guard also helps your growth as an individual and aids in a person's day-to-day life, as it expands their social group and introduces them to new horizons,

“You socialize with a lot of new people who you wouldn't hang out with normally,”  Freshman Marlee Allen said.

The Color Guard team has to work very hard but they still get to have fun, and enjoy their new long-lasting friendships this team has provided for them.

“ My favorite part of being in color guard is being able to meet new people and mess around,”  Freshman Felicity Schultz said.
