According to Election Central, Czajkoski had 15,035 (55.61 percent) votes to Powell’s 12,002 (44.39 percent) votes.

The race had the community buzzing after Powell’s wife Vanessa vowed to keep her husband’s campaign running in order to give the residents choice. A victory for Powell would have forced a special election where the race would be open to the public for anyone to run.
