Sept 25th-28th

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone had a great weekend. It was a beautiful one! I hope you got to spend sometime outside. On Friday, we were able to do our Terry Fox run around the perimeter of the playground. I'll attach a few pictures at the end of the note.

Literacy update,

This week we will begin out first full week of the Fundations program. Tomorrow I will be sending home a folder. Inside the folder is a parent note and a copy of the letters we will be focusing on. There is also a laminated copy of the Fundations writing grid. Please return this folder daily in the homework bag as I will add to it every week. We will also be beginning to learn some sight words. In kindergarten we call them trick words or heart words because most of the time they don't follow the rules and you just have to know them by heart. The first sight word will be "see". This week we will continue to work on recognizing colour words. We will continue with the colour word "blue". We will read lots of books about Fall and talk about our senses as they relate to Fall.

Numeracy update,

We will continue to work on numbers to 5. We will focus on the number 3. We will be introducing math stations where students get a chance to practice their skills through math games.

Reminders

- When ordering from the lunch programs please make sure to send utensils and a straw if        your child would like to use one. 

- Please make sure to send in an extra pair of clothes.
