Hello Everyone!.

I'm sure your households are full of excitement these days! I know mine is forsure! I hope you were all pleased with the Christmas concert. Everyone did an amazing job! Last week we were discussing many different Christmas traditions around the world. We talked about Hannukah, I taught the children how to play dreidle. They really enjoyed this game. I had never played before and it's really an easy and fun game. We then moved on to Mexico and learned about how poinettas came to be a symbol of Christmas around the world. This week we will move on to Germany where the gingerbread houses come from. We will compare the traditional gingerbread man story to many modern takes on the story. We will make gingerbread playdoh to go in our cookie shop. I have many gingerbread learning stations that focus on rhyming, letter and sound recognition. 

Our classroom has been really . If you can, send a sweater until we get the temperature regulated. 

Literacy:

We will continue on with Fundations. The next two letters are /x/ and /y/. We will introduce the trick word my.


Numeracy: 

We will have Christmas math stations to review the skill we have been learning.
