October 23-27

Hello Everyone!

I don't know about you but this weekend just flew by! We are back at it tomorrow! Last week was filled with excitement. We had a visit from the Earth Rangers. They brought along two animals for the kids to see. There was lots of excitement in the audience. We also broke out some Halloween stations. The students LOVED the new kitchen area. I turned it into a witch's kitchen where they pretend to make a witch's brew by following the recipe.  We will continue with our Halloween stations this week as the excitement builds for Halloween.

Literacy- In fundations, we will be focusing on letters Aa and Gg. We will also continue to talk about rhyming, syllables and how many words in a spoken sentence. The students are busy drawing and writing Halloween stories in writers workshop. This week we will study non-fiction texts about Bats.

Numeracy- We will continue to count to make groups up to 5. We will talk about all the combinations to to make 5. We will also be adding in some fall/halloween patterning and comparing size of witches, spiders bats etc.

Halloween- Students are welcome to dress up on the 31st. Please keep masks and pretend weapons at home.

Teddy Bear Clinic- I sent home a sheet from the nurses on Friday. This year they have divided up the classes into two days. We will have our Teddy Bear Clinic on November 2nd.
