Welcome to Pre-K at Martin Elementary.
I am so excited to be here! It is a privilege to teach the littlest of bobcats.
This is my second year in Celina ISD. I am coming from Frisco ISD with 8 years of pre-k experience, with another combined 9 years in kindergarten and first grade. My hope is to instill a joy for learning in your child so that joy will help them become life-long learners. I am big on teaching independence for young children which is something we will work all year. Your child's first year of school is going to be full of learning through play, exploration and making new friends.

Good to know inormation about our day...
Snack Time
Our snack will be after nap in the afternoon
Please make sure the snacks you pack your child are healthy snacks, easy to open and do not require the use of any eating utensils as we are snacking in our classroom. If your child can open what they bring without help they will be able to eat faster and we will not have to touch what they eat (which means less germs, less mess)
Please DO NOT pack bottled water with cap lids. The caps will get lost or put on incorrectly resulting in a spill. Instead please have your child bring their own thermos type bottle with a spout or a squirt bottle filled with water. Below are some examples of what to pack and what not to pack:
DO PACK THESE TYPES OF SNACKS AND DRINKS:
Dry cereals, cookies, fruits already cut and peeled in ziploc bags, gummies, granola bars, applesauce that does not need a spoon.
Thank you!
Recess
Your child will go to recess each day. Please send them with shoes that have a strap, no flip flops. Tennis shoes are best. (especially if it is a P.E. day)
Girls should wear shorts underneath skirts or dresses
Complete the Volunteer Background Check You will need this completed to attend our field trip and to volunteer at school.
Daily Folders
Your child will be given a dialy folder that will travel back and forth from school to home each day. Please check your child's folder each night for notes, school work, behavior, etc.
Please take out any papers. On occasion there may be something in the pocket of the folder you may need to sign and return to school.
Nap Mats and Blankets
We have rest/nap-time in the classroom. It is most comfortable to rest on a nap map. We will write your chi;d's name of the mat and wipe it down daily. This map stays at school, however, each Monday your child will need to bring a small blanket or beach towel to help thme snuggle in. Because we are napping in the classroom, we do not have space to store large blankets or sleeping bags. Each Friday their blanket/towel will be sent home to be washed.
**Another reason for them to have a small blanket is if they are riding a bus. It can be difficult to carry.
