Welcome to our Class!
Hello Bobcats and Families,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! My name is Ms. Klees, and I am so excited to be your child’s first grade teacher. This will be my first year teaching, and I truly can’t wait to begin this amazing journey!
This year will be packed with fun activities and meaningful lessons as we build foundational skills in reading, writing, math, and more. Most importantly, we’ll grow together as a classroom and I am so excited to see all the wonderful things your child will achieve!
A little bit about me: I graduated from Texas Christian University 2 years ago, and I am a huge TCU Horned Frog fan! When I’m not at school, you can usually find me spending time with family and friends, reading, or cooking.
I am honored to be a part of your child’s educational journey. I look forward to getting to know each of you and partnering with you to make this a memorable, fun-filled year of growth and success.
With excitement,
Ms. Klees
This year our class will be using the Class Dojo App to help us stay in communication. Join our class Dojo for the latest updates and reminders!
Email:
Please be sure to check your email. I will send a weekly email that will include important information and a weekly newsletter. On occasion, I may also send out emails during the week, as some information may be too much to send through Class Dojo.
Meet the Teacher!
Meet the Teacher will be on Monday, August 10th.
What to do before Meet the Teacher:
Please bring all the supplies on our 1st grade list. You will be sorting them with your child at Meet the Teacher. Also, please ONLY label the following items with your child's name: scissors, school supply bag, Crayola Markers, and headphones.
Please be sure to know how your child will be getting home the first three days of school, so I can document it at Meet the Teacher.
Please check your child's folder each day. This will be where behavior notes, daily notes, fluency phrase list, and other information will be sent home. This is also where you will send notes to school. Your child needs to bring this folder to school daily!
Our students attend a different specials class each day for 50 minutes. For P.E students need to wear sneakers everyday to safely particapte or bring them to change into. Best practice: Any day your child does not wear sneakers, please have them packed in their backpack.
Lunch money may be added to your child's lunch account online on the School Cafe site for lunches in the cafeteria or any additional snacks.
Please provide a snack for your child to eat in class during snack time (quick/easy to eat) and a flip top/straw water bottle that can easily be refilled. No screw top water bottles please.
Please keep a Ziplock bag of extra clothes in your child's backpack in case they have an accident at school or get dirty and need a change of clothes. Label the bag with your child's first and last name. Please make sure to update this bag as the seasons change.
