I believe that strong communication between home and school is an important part of helping every child feel supported, confident, and successful. I value partnering with families and welcome the opportunity to connect throughout the school year.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions, celebrations, or anything you'd like to share about your child. I look forward to working together to make this a wonderful year for your student!
Welcome to Our Class!
I am so excited to welcome you to second grade as your child’s teacher! I cannot wait for the year ahead and the opportunity to learn, grow, and create wonderful memories together. I am so grateful to be part of your child’s journey and look forward to getting to know your family along the way.
I believe every child is uniquely created with incredible potential. My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels safe, valued, encouraged, and excited to learn. I want each child to know they are capable, their voice matters, and they have something special to contribute to our classroom community. I am especially excited to build meaningful relationships with my students and families while helping children grow in confidence, independence, and their love of learning.
Through substitute teaching and my time in PCA Plano’s Elementary Extended Day program, I discovered how much I love helping children learn, grow, and believe in themselves. Before becoming a teacher, I spent more than 12 years in marketing. I’m grateful for the journey that brought me to the classroom and so excited to begin this new chapter in education.
Outside of school, I am a proud mom to my 14-year-old son, Brody, and pet parent to our Australian Shepherd, Buddy Lou Albertson, and leopard gecko, Eggy. I enjoy spending time in nature, making memories with family and friends, and cheering on Brody as he pursues his passions in football and mixed martial arts.
I am honored to be part of the Celina ISD family and this wonderful community. I look forward to partnering with your family to help your child have a year filled with kindness, confidence, growth, and joyful learning.

Please send your child in TENNIS SHOES/SNEAKERS every day (with the exception of picture day). They will be participating in various activities throughout the day and want to ensure they have safe footwear!
Students may bring a healthy snack and labeled water bottle with a flip-top lid each day. Please no screw-top bottles as these tend to spill. Only WATER is allowed in the classroom. Examples of appropriate snacks are Cheez-its, goldfish, granola bars, and pretzels. Please avoid sending snacks that require utensils to eat.
We would love to celebrate your child on their special day! You may drop off a labeled, store bought treat in the office. Cookies and cupcakes are great options. Please check with me on class size and possible allergies beforehand.
Homework will not be sent home at this time. You can help support your child at home by reading together each night, strengthening their math fact fluency with flashcards, playing games with dice and numbers (shut the box, farkle, cards), or any CISD approved websites linked on my Clever page.
Create an account at SchoolCafe.com/CELINAISD to add funds to your child's lunch account.
Complete the Volunteer Background Check. You will need this completed to attend our field trip and to volunteer at school.
Let's Connect!
Our class will be using Class Dojo and Seesaw to help us stay in constant communication. Parent accounts can be set up with a Parent Code or with an email invitation. Both of these methods to get connected must be started by your child's teacher. Please follow the instructions to join our class.
Please be sure to check your child's Daily Folders every day. This is where behavior notes if needed will be, daily notes, high frequency words, and other information will be sent home in this folder. If the behavior calendar has a smiley face or is blank, this means your child had a GREAT DAY! This is also where you can send notes to school if needed.
Please check your child's bobcat folder each Thursday. This will be where their graded papers and any important information from our grade level or school will be sent home. Thursday folders need to be returned on Fridays.
