Welcome to ECSE!

I am so excited to welcome your child and family into our classroom this year. I grew up in Dallas and now live right up the road in Sherman with my husband, Aaron, and our two dogs Belle and Bradley.

I have spent the last 10 years in special education as both an aide and as a teacher, and I truly live by the motto: "See the able, not the label." My goal is to create a fun, supportive space where our littlest Bobcats can build independence, learn through play, and celebreate every milestone together. I am looking forward to an amazing year ahead with you all!

Daily Folder

Your child will be given a daily foldere that will travel back and forth from school and home each day. Please be sure to check and inital the daily sheet in your childs folder.

CHANGE OF CLOTHES

Spills and accidents can occur in school. Please sent in a complete change of clothing in a large ziplock back in your child's backpack. (Shirt, pants/shorts, underwearm, and socks. Be sure to label the bag with your child;s name. Clothes will be stored in your childs cubby until they are needed.

SNACK TIME

We will have snack time in the afternoon every day. Please provide a healthy snack for your child to eat in class during snack time and a flip top/ straw water bottle that can be easily refilled. No screw top bottles please as these spill frequently.

*ONLY WATER IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM*

RECESS

Please send your child in TENNIS SHOES/SNEAKERS every day (with the exeption of picture day.) Sneakers are MANDATORY for PE. They will be partcipating in various activities throughout the day .

Girls should wear shorts underneath skirts or dresses.

NAP TIME

We have daily rest time in the classroom. Please send a standard nap mat (which will stay at school, get labeled with your child's name, and be wiped down daily) along with a small blanket or beach towel every Monday. Blankets go home on Fridays to be washed. Due to space and please no large blakets or sleeping bags.

Volunteer

Complete the Volunteer Background Check You will need this completed to attend our field trip and to volunteer at school.

Birthdays

I would love to celebrate your child on their special day! You may drop off a labeled, store bought treat in the office. Cookies and cupcakes are great options! Please check with me on class size and allergies beforehand.
