Conference Time
Welcome!
I'm so excited to be joining the Celina ISD family this year! This is my 17th year of teaching and my first year in Celina. Throughout my career, I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. I love creating engaging learning experiences that help students grow both academically and personally while building confidence and a love of reading and learning.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have been married to my husband, Jason, for 32 years, and we have three amazing children. Our daughter, Megan, is a graduate of Texas A&M University and works as a NICU nurse in Oklahoma City. Our son, Collin, is also a Texas A&M graduate and works as an Industrial Distribution Engineer. Our youngest son, Miles, is currently attending Collin College and plans to transfer to Texas A&M next fall. We're a house divided—our family is full of Aggies, while my husband proudly remains a loyal Longhorn fan!
I can't wait to get to know your child and partner with you to make this a wonderful year of learning!
The best way to contact me is via email. Please allow up to 24 hours for response. All changes in dismissal need to be communicated through the office if they occur after our conference time, or if you don't hear back from me prior to 3pm.
We will be sending home ‘Thursday Folders’ each week. Please check these folders for notes from the office, graded work, and any other communication.
Mrs. Norris sends out a weekly ‘Smores’ newsletter through email. This will be current information on all things Martin Elementary.
The Parent Guide is an all inclusive, one stop resource for parents. Check it out - click the "Home" button at the bottom of this page, then scroll down to find answers to questions you may have on specific topics!
Daily Class Information
Snacks: Students may bring a snack each day. The snack should not require a spoon or be in liquid form, and easy to eat. Examples of suggested snacks are Cheezits, goldfish, granola bars, and pretzels. No candy/sugar please, as snack time is in the morning.
Birthdays: You may drop off store bought treats in the office. We will celebrate at the end of the day. Please check with me on class size as it changes throughout the year.
Homework: Regular homework is not sent home. Things you can do at home to help support your child are reading each night, practicing math facts using flashcards or online apps, or CISD approved websites.
Breakfast and Lunch: You will need to add funds to student ‘My School Bucks’ account (link below).
Every year our Lost & Found is more "lost" and less "found"! Help students keep up with belongings by labeling items such as water bottles, lunch boxes, jackets/hoodies, etc.
