Earth's Surface

Events such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions on the surface of the Earth lead us to the understanding that there may be breaks in the Earth's surface.

Complete the following activity to learn about the following events; The Eruption of Mt. St. Helens, A devastating earthquake in Guatemala, and the Birth of the Island of Surtsey.

  • Students will recognize that the surface of the earth is broken up by various geologic features.
  • Students will find the locations of various surface features on the Earth.

  • I can describe how the earth's surface is broken up by geologic features.
