Internal and external iliac aa

The common iliac arteries branch to form the internal and external iliac arteries.  The external iliac a. gives off the inferior epigastric a. before passing under the inguinal ligament, at which point the external iliac a. becomes the femoral a.  The internal iliac a. provides blood supply to pelvic organs.
