PATTERNS/TRANSFORM

The PATTERNS/TRANSFORM tool is located in the Right side of the sketch toolbar.

The PATTERNS/TRANSFORM tool has a pull down menu with options for a LINEAR PATTERNS, CIRCULAR PATTERNS and TRANSFORM tools.
The most recently PATTERNS/TRANSFORM tool will be shown on the toolbar and can be LEFT CLICKED directly.

The LINEAR PATTERN tool duplicates a line or curve multiple times horizontally and/or vertically

LEFT CLICK on the LINEAR PATTERN tool.
LEFT CLICK on the Lines or Curves to pattern
Double LEFT CLICK on the Horizontal Quantity of Lines/Curves.
Enter quantity of Lines/Curves desired total Horizontally.
LEFT CLICK or press RETURN on the keyboard to set the quantity.
Double LEFT CLICK on Horizontal Distance size.
Enter the Horizontal distance desired between each duplicated Line/Curve
- Enter a positive distance to duplicate to the right (Positive X)
- Enter a negative distance to duplicate to the left (Negative X)
- You can also LEFT CLICK and HOLD on the Horizontal arrow DRAG the arrow to move to an approximate location.
Double LEFT CLICK on the Vertical Quantity of Lines/Curves.
- Enter quantity of Lines/Curves desired total Vertically.
- LEFT CLICK or press RETURN on the keyboard to set the quantity.
Double LEFT CLICK on Vertical Distance size.
Enter the Vertical distance desired between each duplicated Line/Curve
- Enter a positive distance to duplicate towards the right (Positive Y)
- Enter a negative distance to duplicate towards the left (Negative Y)
- You can also LEFT CLICK and HOLD on the Vertical arrow DRAG the arrow to move to an approximate location.
LEFT CLICK to Complete the PATTERN

The CIRCULAR PATTERN tool duplicates a line or curve multiple times about a point

LEFT CLICK on the CIRCULAR PATTERN tool.
LEFT CLICK on the Lines or Curves to pattern
Adjust the Center Point of the CIRCULAR PATTERN
- LEFT CLICK AND HOLD THE Center point.
- DRAG the Center Point to a desired location.
  - When placed over a point, a yellow box will appear around the point
  - When placed over a Line/Curve, the Line/Curve will turn yellow
- Release the LEFT Button to set the point.
Double LEFT CLICK on the Quantity of Lines/Curves to be Duplicated
- Enter quantity of Lines/Curves desired.
- LEFT CLICK or press RETURN on the keyboard to set the quantity.
Adjust the Angle of Dispersion for the Lines/Curves to be Duplicated
- If the entities are to be spread evenly about a full circle (360 degrees), no change is required
- If they are to be spread over a smaller Degree
  - LEFT CLICK and HOLD the Arrow showing rotation and move the the desired angle.
    - or
  - DOUBLE LEFT CLICK on the ANGLE
    - Enter the desired angle between the first and lest entity
    - LEFT CLICK or press RETURN on the keyboard to set the Angle.
LEFT CLICK to Complete the PATTERN

The TRANSFORM tool will move (Slide and/or Rotate) selected entities to a new location.

Onshape default point location is the lower left point of a line or the Center of a circle.

LEFT CLICK on the rotation arrow and move it to the desired angle
- Once you have started to rotate the figure, you can enter the desired angle in the box and press
Press RETURN on the Keyboard to set the Angle.
LEFT CLICK to Complete the PATTERN

LEFT CLICK and HOLD on the Circle (Rotation Point) the where Horizontal and Vertical slide arrows intersect.
- The circle will turn yellow
Slide the Rotation Point to the desired location
- When you move to another known point, the circle will snap to that location.
- You can find mid points by moving over the mid point of a line
- Lines will highlight in yellow when the cursor is over the line.
Release the Left Mouse button.
LEFT CLICK on the rotation arrow and move it to the desired angle
- Once you have started to rotate the figure, you can enter the desired angle in the box and press
Press RETURN on the Keyboard to set the Angle.
LEFT CLICK to Complete the TRANSLATE

LEFT CLICK and HOLD on the square located above the Horizontal and to the right of the Vertical slide arrows.
- The square will turn yellow
Drag to the desired location and release Left Button
- It is recommended that the entities be moved to a know point is concentric with the Rotation Point.
