USE/INTERSECTION

The USE and INTERSECTION tools allows you to bring geometry (Lines and points) from other features and place them on the current sketch. Those lines can then be used to create other geometry.

The USE tool tool is located in the middle of the sketching toolbar.

The USE tool has a pull down menu with options for a USE and INTERSECTION.
The most recently used USE tool will be shown on the toolbar and can be LEFT CLICKED directly.

ACTIVITY

Using Brophy Tutorial 0 -Sample part, create a sketch on the bottom of the part and practice using the USE tool to project the hole edges to the new sketch. Review the Intersection Tool.

USE TOOL

Add geometry from another section of a feature to your sketch.

LEFT CLICK on the USE tool from to sketch toolbar
Select a line or point from the features already created for this part
- The lines will be translated to the sketch you are currently working on.
- The will be constrained (Related) to the features from which they were created.
  - The lines and points will be black.

intersection tool

Add geometry from a feature that intersects with the plane of your sketch to your sketch.

Select a feature from an already created for this part
- The lines will be translated to the sketch you are currently working on.
- The will be constrained (Related) to the features from which they were created.
  - The lines and points will be black.
