The VIEW CUBE provides several features to assist in designing a part.
Below are different pictures of the VIEW CUBE which is used in Onshape to rotate to different views as desired.
The ORIGIN is the point where the X, Y, and Z axis intersect.
The FRONT and BACK planes are opposite each other
The TOP and BOTTOM planes are opposite each other
The RIGHT and LEFT planes are opposite each other
Located in the Upper Right of the Onshape Window.
LEFT CLICK on a Specific Side of the VIEW CUBE, the part will rotate so that that View is shown flat on the window
LEFT CLICKING on the Arrows around the VIEW CUBE will rotate the part by 45 degrees in the direction selected per click.
Located below the VIEW CUBE on the right
Clicking on the VIEW CUBE Pull Own Menu allows you to quickly change views based on preset choices
Axonometric projection is a type of parallel projection where the plane or axis of the object depicted is not parallel to the projection plane, such that multiple sides of an object are visible in the same image.
Onshape offers 3 standard Projection Views (Isometric, Diametric, Trimetric)
Select ISOMETRIC to rotate the part to this view.
ISOMETRIC Projection View:
Select DIAMETRIC to rotate the part to this view.
DIAMETRIC Projection View:
Select TRIMETRIC to turn the part to this view.
TRIMETRIC Projection View:
If there is an unique angle you want to view the part from often, you can create your own view
Onshape allows many different looks for a part which may aid in creating features.
