The week in Review

What a wonderful year we have had! A huge thank you to all of the children, parents and Year 6 team for working together to ensure that happy memories have been created.Thank you so much for your support and encouragement. The students have been awesome and have made their teachers incredibly proud.

Thank you for joining us at the Year 6 assembly to celebrate our amazing year. It was lovely to see you all - we hope that you enjoyed the poetry, music and singing! What a fabulous way to end the year, before embarking on the next part of the school journey to Senior School. We will be sharing photographs of this event via the children’s google classroom.

As a final thankyou - thankyou for your support with the Year 6 charity chocolate sale. We collected a whopping 528.250 OMR. A great effort by all!

Homework

Please note that during the last week of term there will not be any homework set. Over the summer break, please ensure that your child continues to read, write and think mathematically on a regular basis.

Any other Notices

Tuck Shop NEW

Year 6 will be able to visit the Tuck Shop to purchase items from the Grab and Go menu during second break from 24 March 2024.
Students will need to top up their COMO card to use the Tuck Shop. To find out how to get your child’s canteen card and to order meals please read this document.

Medical Details

To ensure we have the most up to date information about allergies and your child’s health, please can all parents check the information we hold on the BSM Parent Portal and confirm all details are correct (or not) by completing this google form.

BSM Primary Instrumental Scheme - Year 6

Dear Parents,

We wanted to let you know that all Year 6 students have now been allocated an instrument as part of the Primary Instrumental Scheme.

To maximize the benefits, and to allow the children to practice at home, you are able to hire your child's selected instrument, this will help to boost their confidence and really engage in their lessons. If you have not filled the form yet and you wish to hire an instrument kindly fill this registration form.

The rental fee for the instruments is 60OMR per year - this covers both usage and general maintenance.

Instrumental Scheme Google Classroom

It is wonderful to see that so many of you have chosen to rent an instrument to support your child's learning alongside the Year 4, 5, and 6 Instrumental Scheme. To ensure that you are able to support your child's learning at home, we have created a Google Classroom full of resources. Absences

If your child is unwell, leaving early or coming late please complete the Absence Form and the class teacher will be informed.

Swimming Kit

Please can we request that all children come to school on the day of their swimming lessons with the following equipment:

Swim Uniform in accordance with guidelines.
Swim hats for those with long hair. NB - For Health & Safety reasons ALL hats must be secure on the head with no risk of slipping down over the face.
Goggles
Towel
Pool shoes (crocs or equivalent)
A waterproof bag to carry everything in.

Please do not wear 'swim uniform' into school for hygiene reasons. Please do not wear an alternative gym or running kit for swimming lessons. It's important to use only 'Swim Uniform' and the recommendations listed above in the pool, as other fabrics become incredibly heavy when wet.

We have created WhatsApp groups for parents to know about urgent messages or reminders. Email will continue to be the main form of communication. Please read our BSM WhatsApp Code of Conduct carefully before joining BSM WhatsApp groups.
