The magic in new beginnings is truly the most powerful of them all.
Welcome to Year 4! We have had a fabulous week getting to know each other, catching up on our summer holidays and enjoying many different activities.
A huge focus of our week was pastoral: creating a safe, happy environment for the children to learn; exploring our feelings; developing our self awareness and creating new friendships within the class.
While our full curriculum will begin next week, we did have the opportunity to take part in some fun maths activities focusing on place value and times tables and some English activities involving letters to our future selves and emoji stories! We have also begun our e safety lessons which will be a feature of our PSHE curriculum throughout the year
There will be no formal homework given in the first week. However, we would like you to familiarise yourselves with google classroom.
In addition, please continue to read regularly with your child at home and record this reading in the PO.
Most of the children now have a device ready to use in school. We will begin to integrate them fully into our curriculum next week. All children have been added to their relevant google classrooms. If you are unsure of your google password, please let your teacher know as these can be reset in school.
