Wow, we are so fortunate to have been a part of your children’s learning journey!
On Monday, the children had a wonderful time meeting their new Year 2 teachers. It was lovely to see the children’s happy, smiling faces as they returned from their moving up morning. The children have made a very good first impression which sets them up nicely for August.
Unfortunately, with the end of another school year comes goodbyes. We wish our children and families the best of luck as they embark on their next adventures. We truly will miss you and your family so please do stay in touch!
This week, we got to know the story of Zavian and the Arabian Leopard Cub - it is a wonderful story and do speak to the children about it as they were so enthused with the story.
In maths, we have continued to work on time and the children can continue to work on telling the time for on the hour and half past.
Children have explored the best way to make something that flies and have discovered it isn’t a paper aeroplane!
Please note that during the last week of term there will not be any homework set. Over the summer break, please ensure that your child continues to read, write and think mathematically on a regular basis. Involving your child in real life scenarios is always an excellent way to achieve this.
What a wonderful year we have had! A huge thank you to all of the children, parents and Year 1 team for working together to ensure that happy memories have been created. The children have been amazing and have made their teachers incredibly proud.
Please make us aware if your child is leaving early for the summer break so we can prepare their school work to take home.
Do send a reusable bag in from home that children can use to carry books and work home in.
Mrs Bowker and The Year 1 Team
We are trialling a few new systems in the top car park to support keeping our children safe at the end of the school day.
We would ask that parents park in the car parking bays which extend along the whole length of the car park from the KS1 pick up area to the FS area. Please do not park in front of other vehicles or leave your car with the engine running while you go to collect your child. There may be times when the parking bays are full and we ask parents to wait a few minutes until the congestion is clear. Please bear with us while we find somewhere for you to park.
When crossing the road, please use the zebra crossing which is manned by the security guards as there are cars regularly reversing and driving down the road. The security guards will ensure it is safe for you and your child to walk across the road. Thank you for your continued support to keep our students safe in the carpark.

Please can we request that all children come to school on the day of their swimming lessons with the following equipment:
Swim Uniform in accordance with guidelines.
Swim hats for those with long hair. NB - For Health & Safety reasons ALL hats must be secure on the head with no risk of slipping down over the face.
Goggles
Towel
Pool shoes (crocs or equivalent)
A waterproof bag to carry everything in.
Please see our Swimwear Guidelines on the website.
Please do not wear 'swim uniform' into school for hygiene reasons. Please do not wear an alternative gym or running kit for swimming lessons. It's important to use only 'Swim Uniform' and the recommendations listed above in the pool, as other fabrics become incredibly heavy when wet.
