Week A or B? Please check the calendar on the website. Each week has an A or B to denote which week is which in the Senior School.
As usual, we are inviting all students to come in non-uniform on the last day of term. There is no theme and no collection of money, it is simply a mini-celebration to mark the last day of term. School will finish at 12pm for the Senior School, please ensure that you collect your children promptly. If you have children in the Primary School please familiarise yourself with the pick up times and arrangements which have been shared in the Primary newsletter.
Hard copies of the yearbook have been given to all those who requested one. If you would like to arrange to print a copy of the yearbook yourself, or just download a copy to keep, please find a link to download the PDF here.
Please be aware that the Senior School Office will be closed from Friday 28 June until Sunday 11 August 2024. If you are changing schools and require a transfer certificate (some schools request these). Please ensure you let us know by the end of this week so we can prepare them in time.
We are very pleased that due to the continued success of the school many more families will be joining BSM for the new academic year. This has meant that in Years 8, 9 and 10 for academic year 2024/25 there will be one extra tutor group and there may be some changes to your child’s tutor group. The Pastoral Team are currently working with tutors, teachers and students to find the most effective composition of the new class and will communicate to those who will change before the end of term.
As we approach the end of the year, and to help us plan for provision next year, we have a simple survey to help us assess our current offer. We would love to hear your thoughts. Please click here to access the survey.
Please return all books and insturments to school as soon as possible
Reports will be issued for Y7, Y8, Y9, Y10 and Y12 students at 2pm on Tuesday 25 June via the Parent Portal.
Please view this document to read more.
From August, Zaks will be our new uniform supplier; Zaks will offer the opportunity to purchase and try on BSM uniforms in their shop 6 days a week until late (located in Al Muzn Mall, close to Al Mouj) and online via their app - with home delivery. On their day of a PE lesson, Senior School students should arrive at school wearing their PE kit. They must bring a school uniform to change into at the end of the lesson (to maintain their personal hygiene) unless the lesson is Period 5, in which case, students can go onto their ECA (if appropriate) or go home. Changing rooms will be locked so all personal belongings are safe; although after school, for ECAs, this may not be the case.
On a day when a student has a PE ECA but not a PE lesson, he/she must come to school in school uniform and change into PE kit, after school, in preparation for their activity.
Deodorant is acceptable, however, no glass containers are allowed and aerosol sprays are not permitted.
The availability of school-owned laptops for emergency use has been a valuable support system for those students who forget or accidentally break their own devices during the day. From 1 January 2024, each student will be eligible for up to five days of free laptop borrowing per academic year. This will help with emergency situations and short-term device issues. Please read more about this policy in this document.
If you are missing an email from school, please check we have your details correct on our Parent Portal.
We are aware of a few problems with our emails not being received by parents, particularly for Yahoo and Hotmail addresses. To help our emails make it to your inbox we would recommend the following: (Please click to expand this section and read more.)
Gmail users - emails sometimes go into the 'promotions' tab and occasionally 'spam'. Please check both these folders. To correct, you can just drag and drop one such message to the 'Primary' mailbox and click Yes on the confirmation box for all future messages.
Yahoo & Hotmail users - emails sent to a group (such as a class or year group) are often filtered out as spam by Yahoo and Hotmail. You can avoid this by adding the email addresses below to your contacts. Please also consider providing us with an alternative email address to contact you.
