MN Studies 9/23-9/27

Monday 9/23/19:

  • We started by collecting late work
  • Then we discussed the review for CH 2 (the last page of the packet)
    • I recommend doing the review like a test to see what you do and do not know, then you can focus your energy on the ones you need to review!
  • Then we had work time on the Petroglyph Project: See below!

  • Ch 2 project-Wednesday at beginning of the hour

Tuesday 9/24/19:

  • We started by collecting late work
  • Then we took our Ch 2 test
  • We then worked on our project (See below)

Wednesday 9/25/19:

  • We started by sharing our petroglyphs with a partner...were they able to tell your story without the summary? We discussed the benefits of having multiple sources to determine the meaning of historical information!
  • Then we did a fun activity about following directions!

Thursday 9/26/19:

  • We started by passing back the test and petroglyph project
  • Then we took a pretest on geography skills
  • We finished the hour doing a 6th grade beginning of the year check in!

Friday 9/27/19:

  • We started by collecting late work
  • Then we learned about the important values of the Dakota people and how Oral History teaches lessons...we read about the Badger and the Bear!

Homework:

  • NONE!

Personal Petroglyph:

1. Determine what story or event you would want to share or leave behind in a petroglyph.

2. Write down a summary of the story -Min 5 sentences.

3. Create a "petroglyph" drawing
