Geography 9/5-9/8/17

Monday 9/4/17: No school Labor Day!

Tuesday 9/5/17:

• We started by welcoming everyone to class.
• We got a new seating chart
• Then we got our numbers for attendance and turning in assignments.
• We did an introduction activity with the 10 largest countries in the world.
• Then we started to look at the syllabus (we changed the class website to this one) (see below)
• We discussed signing up for remind messages
• We then had time to work on our Get to Know You Sheet

Homework:

• Sign up for Remind by Friday 9/8
• Check class website, navigate and bookmark by Friday 9/8
• Finish Get to Know You sheet (see below) by Wednesday 9/6
• OPTIONAL: bring in kleenex or clorox wipes for the classroom by Monday 9/11 for a prize drawing!

Wednesday 9/6/17:

• We collected the Get to Know You sheets that were due today!
• We started by doing the come on 6 activity and learning more about how we work when it is a self competitive atmosphere.
• Then we did a cooperative squares activity where we worked as a group and discussed how we worked when it was a team event and we couldn't talk.

Thursday 9/7/17:

• We started by getting our Plickers that we will be using in class and trying them out
• Then we collected late work and discussed how we collect late work in our room
• We then did an activity to learn more about our own unique learning style!
• If there was time we watched a video that allowed us to "fly" across America and see different landmarks and main physical features! How many were you able to identify?!

• We started by collecting late work
• Then we took our Unit 1 pre-test
• If there was time we watched CNN 10
