MN Studies 9/16-9/20/19
Monday 9/16/19:
- We started by collecting CH 1 packets
- Then we spent some time analyzing different types of ice...4 kinds...which related to the 4 times MN was covered in glaciers and that each time the shape of MN was changed.
- Then we began talking about Ch 2. How MN Changed physically and how stories and carvings have impacted what people know about MN From thousands of years ago!

Tuesday 9/17/19:
- We started by collecting late work and passing back Ch 1 packets
- Then we read more of ch 2 and completed Q 1-2 in our workbooks. We also listened to some oral histories from people who are Dakota, a geologist and the manager of Petroglyphs about the location!

Wednesday 9/18/19:
- We started by collecting late work
- Then we read, discussed ch 2 and completed the ch. comprehension notes
Homework:
- NONE!
Thursday 9/19/19:
- We did a philosophical chairs discussion about whether or not archaeologists should be able to excavate ancient burial mounds
- Then we discussed Oral History and Archaeology with the MN Studies page!
Homework:
- Get ch 2 comprehension notes and MN Studies page done for tomorrow!
Friday 9/20/19:
- We did the CH 2 Creative Enrichment.
- Then we began working on our CH 2 project:
- Personal Petroglyph:
- 1. Determine what story or event you would want to share or leave behind in a petroglyph.
- 2. Write down a summary of the story -Min 5 sentences.
- 3. Create a "petroglyph" drawing
- DUE: Wednesday 9/25 beg of hour!
