Monday 9/3: No School-Labor Day

Tuesday 9/4: 6th Grade First Day! No class content

Wednesday 9/5:

• We started by taking attendance and sharing how we take attendance each day.
• Then we did introductions using a 6 word story about ourselves.
• We then talked about our flexible seating that we have in the classroom. This is designed to help us better focus. We will have a few days to try out new seats and then will commit to a seat for about 2 weeks at a time (sometimes longer depending on the unit). See the flexible seating agreement below!
• We then began talking about the class syllabus and expectations!
• I am so glad you are all here!

Homework:

• Sign up for Remind by Friday (see remind tab or syllabus for info)
• Check class website and bookmark by Friday
• Want to bring in supplies? Kleenex or Clorox Wipes! Bring them in for an entry into the candy raffle!

Thursday 9/6/2018:

• We started by having 6th graders go to the library to learn about checking out books.
• Then the remainder of the time, or the hour for 7th grade we worked on the Get to Know you Sheet. Please turn in tomorrow if you have not turned it in already.
• We then talked about breathing, and the benefits of being mindful and doing some deep breaths. We will do this each day this year for about 1 minute. Feel free to try it at other times as well!

Friday 9/7:

• We started by doing our Breathing exercise
• Then we started talking about how to define MN.
• We then read pg 1-5 in our text
• We worked on the comprehension page, and made sure we understood the different subjects and sidebars that we will be using.

Homework:

• Bring 3 things that are unique to you by Tuesday, Feel free to put them in a bag if that is easier!
