On Monday we read chapter 14 of The Hope Chest the chapters theme was "stand up for what is right." We saw this in the chapter when Violet spied on the Antis to help the suffragists know what was coming in the vote. Then we wrote a summary about the chapter in our groups on Seesaw.
On Tuesday the lemonade and Torta stands began. There are going to be 2 lemonade and 1 Torta stand, one stand was on Tuesday and the other was on Friday and the Torta stand on Thursday. See photos below.
We read chapter 15 and filled out a packet that Mr. L. gave us, we filled it out by ourselves. And the lemonade stand was a blast, the group made around $115 from all of the cash sales and made $37 from Venmo sales. Then they donated it all to MCC (Mennonite Central Community) it was fun for everyone, even the customers.
We read chapter 17 of The Hope Chest and started our essay about the whole books main theme and characters who did it.
The tortas group had their stand and got $330 the tortas were amazing, everyone liked them and they had other things varying from chips to Choco flan (a chocolatey dessert from Mexico that looks like Jello) it was all so good.
On Friday when we read The Hope Chest chapter 18, we found out that the suffragists beat the anti-suffragists just barely.
