O.C. Bucklin

O.C. (Oliver) Bucklin, was a beloved father, and a hard worker. O.C. homesteaded in Fallon County, at a place that was called Calumet which is somewhere south of Plevna and west of Willard. O.C. Bucklin did many things pertaining to the farm life, like having cattle. Everything was going great for O.C. until a huge tragedy struck down upon his life ravaging everything he once knew and loved. In September of 1910, O.C. Bucklin became very ill. So sick that he had to go back East where he once lived, to recover from his sickness. O.C. was sick for quite some time, but by the end of September he came back to Calumet to help his family. O.C. Bucklin’s wife was a teacher in the same area that she and her husband were living. I was unable to find the exact name of the school at which his wife taught, but their granddaughter Lois attended the Milk Creek School, which was near their home. So I believe that it’s a safe bet to say that’s where she taught. O.C. and his wife had at least one child, who was named C.W. (Calvin), who was the father of Lois Bucklin. Seems Calvin’s dad Oliver Bucklin, grew up in the Milk Creek area. He was the son of farmers, Calvin W. and Ada Bucklin, who lived west of Willard, MT. on the family ranch homesteaded by Calvin’s great-grandmother Mary Bucklin.
