Ed Wang was born on November 9, 1870, in Occola Pennsylvania. In 1878, Ed was living in Elen, Minnesota. Many years later, he married Lena Dahl, on July 24,1895. In their marriage, they had three sons and two daughters. Their sons were Elmer, Art, and Albert, and their daughters were Laura Wang Holder and Alice Wang Mastin. In 1906, Ed came to Montana by the Northern Pacific Railroad. After showing up, he claimed a homestead south of Ollie and built a house. The rest of his family arrived in Ollie, in 1907.
There wasn’t a town of Ollie for a few years after he moved. Ed did lots of farming in his time in Ollie. He helped build buildings and helped the community. Since there was not a town around him, there was a lot of hurried trips to Baker. While helping build Ollie, Ed built a blacksmith’s shop. He then ran the shop for many years. Also, he helped build a telephone line through Ollie. Soon after, Baker Electricity built a telephone line through Ollie. Eventually, Ed and his wife moved to Baker, in December of 1934. Ed died February 24, 1938 in Baker, Montana.
