Fred Stark moved out to Montana with his parents Glen and Bessie Stark from Minnesota. Fred immediately filed a claim for close to a section and a half of land located south of Ollie, Montana. When he moved out here, he was one of the oldest of what was to be nine children. His sister Helen was born July 13, 1918 in Ollie.
There is not much known about Fred Stark. The Fallon County Times makes mention of him and his residence in a few happenings. For example, on August 8, 1918 Helen Wilson spent several days at the Fred Stark residence. Also, “At a meeting of directors of the Beaver Valley Telephone Company which was held in Ollie this the past week, there was a change in the managers, one of which is Fred Stark one of our deserving farmers accepted the position to succeed Mr.mr Clifford Sweet whose time was out February 17. They all joined in wishing Mr. Fred Stark in his new undertaking.”On June 6, 1918 Fred and his wife shopped for groceries at the Ollie store.
